Moms Washer

When I first moved to Arizona, twenty something years ago, it was to the Navaho Nation that I made my home. Long story how that came to pass. Had family there, and marital ties as well through an uncle. Over those many years I saw many wonderous things. Both in the landscape, but mainly in the people. I learned to see things in a totaly new way. The physical reality, turns out for me was completely different than I imagined. And the spiritual reality. This is what I want to talk about today. Durring the monsoon season, there can be some very frightening thunder storms, the last year I was there, three tornados. Dine call them chei. Grandfather, He comes to gather up things of no value. At least that's how I understand it. Anyway, you can be somewhere and see one of these hudge thunder clouds race by in the distance, and get the feeling that things are trying to return to equalib

  1. I love the thunder that Grandfather brings. And the rain freshens the earth. Most certainly part of the balance.

  2. I would love to read more about your life and your thoughts about Arizona. I have followed Gaelyns' blog for a long time. Even though I'm more of a reader, and not much of a 'comment' writer, I do love Arizona and it's landscapes as I discovered during our times of travel there. Posts about your life while living on the indian reservation would be very interesting to read I think. Pictures would be appreciated, too! May you get many followers, and I'll be looking forward to reading many more writings from you. Great luck in your new blog!
